Reaching the North
One Soul at a Time
Who we are:
Northern Ladies Retreat is an Interdenominational Christian retreat for ladies and teens.
We meet for one weekend each year to worship the Lord through music, teachings and fellowship.
We meet in beautiful Northern Ontario, Canada in the small mining community of Timmins.
We have ladies atttending from all over the Northern region encompassing surrounding areas such as Attiwaspiskat, Matachewan, Hearst, Chapleau, Porquis Junction, Gogama, Matheson, Iroquois Falls, Englehart, Barber's Bay, Matheson, Ramore, Connaught, South Porcupine, Porcupine, Swastika, Haileybury, Kirkland Lake, Kashechewan, Schumacher, Hornepayne, Facquier, Quebec, Cochrane, Earlton, Sudbury ... is your town listed yet?
The retreat consists of a planning committee of 6 women who love and serve the Lord and have
a desire to share His Love to reach souls for Jesus.
Established in 1979 with 2 founders, Grace Adams and Norah Steed, the heart of these women was to host a retreat for the ladies of the North as the Southern conferences were too far away and too expensive.
The Northern area didn't have any retreats then, and to this day, there is nothing like our
Northern Ladies Retreat in the North.
There were approximately 60 ladies from the region of Timmins including only a few from surrounding
regions who attended the first retreat. The attendance has been growing every year.
2020 marks 41 years that we have been holding yearly retreats.
Our mission, vision:
To encourage, to strengthen, and to equip ladies and teens in the North in the power and might of our Lord Jesus Christ through the teaching of Biblical truths from the speakers, workshops, worship, and our time of praying.
Our desire is that each women and teen grow to maturity and be continually transformed and changed into the
likeness of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and to do the work of the ministry in their local churches and communities in the North as we share our hearts together in fellowship and unity, returning
to our communities to live the life of a stronger, more faith-filled, re-energized believer.
Our goal is to see revival in the North through each woman and teen sharing the
gospel message in their own community. One soul at a time.
Can you imagine what would happen
if every woman said "YES!" to God?!!
be that woman
You may be reading this and may never have heard what it means to be a believer in Jesus.
You ask the questions "Saved from what?"; "Who can save me?"; and "What must I do?"
Saved from What?
The Power of the Gospel delivers and rescues people from an eternity without Christ, from damnation. The Power of the Gospel rescues you from your sins and eternal punishment (hell). Salvation is a work of God. It is by His Power to rescue souls.
Who can save me?
It is by Gods own will and design that He used His Son Jesus Christ to be the only acceptable and perfect sacrifice to reconcile sinners to Himself. Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. The only way to heaven is through Him. “I am the way, the truth, and the life and no man can come to the Father except through Him.” John 14:6 “Nor is there salvation in any other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
God’s only Son Jesus Christ willing, submissively, and obediently went to the cross to die. He did so – for the Love He has for His Father and His Love for us. Christ who knew no sin, sinless, became treated as if He were a sinner, so believers who have not yet been made righteous are treated as they were righteous. He bore our sins so that we could bear His Righteousness. Jesus Christ is the only Saviour of the world. Jesus Christ is the only source of everlasting eternal life. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
What must I do?
The Bible says to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God and that by believing you may have life in His Name. Believing in Christ, this is saving faith. Saving faith is supernatural. It is a gracious gift of God that He produces in the heart. “For by grace you have been saved through faith and this is not your own doing it is a gift of God, not a results of work so that no one may boast”. Ephesians 2:8-9 To believe is to trust in the saving faith of God. It is mentally understanding the gospel message and the truth about Christ through what the Bible says.
Believe in Jesus Christ, God’s Son, who died on the cross for our sins, who rose on the third day and is seated on the right side of God.
To repent – to be sorrowful of your sin - is seeing yourself as a sinner. Some may say “I am not all that bad, there are worse than me.” The Bible says that not one is righteous. “For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.” Romans 3:23 It is forsaking and abandoning everything. It is to cry out to God be merciful to me, a sinner. It is making a conscious decision to submit your will to Jesus Christ and to trust in Him alone. To be a Christian is to be a follower of Christ. It is to confess Jesus Christ as Lord and to embrace Him as your Saviour and Lord.
"For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13, because, "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” Romans 10:9-10

Northern Ladies Retreat
Statement of Faith
We believe the 66 books of the Bible are the inspired Word of God, “God-breathed”, absolutely inerrant, authoritative and infallible.
We believe there is one living and true God, Creator of all, holy, sovereign, eternal, existing in three Persons -
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit - each equally deserving worship and obedience.
We believe in Jesus Christ, born of the virgin Mary, supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit, the only Saviour through Whom mankind can be saved.
We believe in Christ's sinless life, His death on the cross in payment for our sins, His bodily resurrection, His triumphant ascension, His intercessory ministry and His personal return.
We believe in the deity and personality of the Holy Spirit Who convicts the world concerning sin and righteousness and of judgment; Who regenerates, justifies, sanctifies, illuminates and comforts those who believe in Jesus Christ.
We believe that every human being, though divinely created in the image of God, is born with a sin nature, is guilty before God, and is subject to physical and spiritual death.
We believe that men are saved by grace, through faith in Christ alone, as they recognize their sinful state, repent of their sins, and accept the all-sufficient sacrifice made by the Lord Jesus Christ on their behalf on the cross.
We believe all those who are born-again are immediately placed by the Holy Spirit into one united spiritual Body; the Church, the Bride of Christ of which Christ is the Head.
We believe that Satan is a created angel who has fallen. The author of sin and by introducing sin into the human race by his temptation with Eve. He is the archenemy of God and men and that he shall be eternally punished in the lake of fire.
We believe in the final judgment, where all who are unsaved will be committed to an eternal punishment in the lake of fire.
We believe in the New Heaven and the New Earth where the saints of God will enjoy fellowship forever with God and one another.
